8/14/24 ikea dining set

woke up at 10 pm which is pretty early for me and my parents randomly asked me if i wanted to go to ikea... i was like yea sure and we drove to ikea. my dad is scared of going on the highway cuz hes kinda a new driver and isnt really fluent in english. we took the local route there instead of just taking the bqe which was like 20 minutes longer. i honestly missed the traffic here

we walked around the ikea for a bit with the goal of buying a new table and chairs for our dining area beacuse the table and chairs we had were literally like 20 years old. i think the table is 23 years old. anyways we got the ekedalen chairs and table and were like "yea lets get this" and we continued to walk and my mom found a taller version of the ekedalen set and was like "holy shit lets get this this is perfect" so we got it. we kept going to look for some kitchen utensils and shit like pans and bowls and plates and spoons and shit

the table wasn't in the warehouse so we had to pick it up which was like a 20 minute wait so we went and got pizza. the ikea pizza is nothing like regular NY pizza but it was surprisingly actually kinda good. the dining area in the ikea was dirty as shit though

we drove around red hook looking for places to eat and went to this supermarket to get some chicken salad thing and it was FREEZING inside bro like my mom was dying. we went outside to eat cause they had this nice ocean view and also cause it was warm outside

we drove home and chilled for like an hour and my dad called me to build the dining set. i started on one of the chairs and he started on the table. literallly right at the start of building the chair there was a part that didn't fit properly.... told my dad and he couldnt figure it out either. so we decided to procrastinate fixing it and both of us just worked on the table together. we finished the table and it was MUCH taller than we had imagined and i called my mom over she was like 'holy shit wtf' but she said it would also look a lot better and more in place when we got the chairs done. we decided were gonna do the chairs tomorrow cuz my dad wanted a break

i love building ikea shit its literally like legos. i did img/m14a-01.png in the late night right before making this entry. i kinda dont rly like how it turned out tbh especially with the blue line under the yellow i think its kinda bended weirdly. also the lines arent the same width on each side of the sign

anyways ill update yall on building the chairs tomorrow. i missed the feinberg stream btw. goodnight
